I created this template with the intention of using it for one year at a time. To use it for a new year, simply make a duplicate of the clean template and use it for that year.
By keeping your financial entries on separate templates based on the year, you will have access to more detailed reports of your financial data.
The first thing you need to do before recording your expense is setting the database page template that comes with the template to default. For some reason, notion resets the default database page templates. To see how to set the default database page template, please refer to the following video.

In the today's transactions section, you can quickly add your current day's expenses and incomes. Simply fill in the description
, amount
, and category
, and the date
and month
properties will be added automatically. I have set up filters to automatically fill in these details every time a new expense or income is created. The date will be set to the current day's date, and the month will be set to the month specified in the filter. You will need to change the month filter every month to the respective month.
The summary section will display a summary of your income and expenses for the current month and year. In order for these summary cards to display the correct data, you must add the month and year summary to the summary property on both your income and expense entries. The property is filled automatically, you don’t have to manually do that.
The expense categories section displays your expenses by category for the current month and overall expenses. This allows you to see how much you are spending on each category, and helps you to track your spending habits and identify areas where you may be able to save money.
Similar to expense categories, the income categories section displays your income by category for the current month and overall income.
